Showpiece is making collectorship accessible by offering fractionalised ownership of some of the world’s most valuable items.
Showpiece came to Planes with a features-heavy wireframe and five weeks to launch a brand new digital product that allows collectors around the world to own a piece of history.

Showpiece launched its brand new proposition with the Mona Lisa of the stamp world, the British Guiana One-cent Magenta. With a seamless path to purchase, we helped Showpiece shift 1,165 pieces in the first week alone, accounting for nearly £1m in revenue.
This simplified user journey delivered equally impressive results for the second item to go live, a 1937 Edward VIII Penny valued at £200,000, which sold out in just a matter of days.

The initial design for the website was packed full of features and functionality. But with just 5 weeks to launch and no time for discovery, it made sense to strip the designs right back to MVP requirements – the stamp, its story and a straightforward path to purchase.
By reducing pages by more than 50% and paring back payment options to a single processor, Stripe, we created a more direct buying journey for customers. It also shaved significant time off the launch. By employing an MVP strategy we were able to use live data and real customer feedback to understand which features to include in the next iteration.
As we continue to make highly coveted items more accessible to the mainstream, we’re now working with Showpiece on interactive features to help bring the age-old art of collecting into the 21st Century. As well as shareability and gamification elements, we’re building an online marketplace that facilitates buying and selling amongst a growing community of collectors.
