Getter is an online shop and on-demand delivery service for the construction industry, helping tradies with broken tools and on-site shortages. But the processes and tech Getter had used for their initial MVP launch were stopping them from scaling; manual ordering and inventory checks made processing large orders difficult.
After securing a $1.4m investment, Getter partnered with Planes to revisit their proposition and product strategy to unlock growth and take their business to the next level.
The aim was to create a single tech stack that Getter had complete ownership over. We rebuilt the original MVP, adding more automation and creating a seamless path to purchase for users. As a result, Getter has grown conversion by 6% for delivery only and by 4% for goods and delivery to significantly above the average e-comm conversion rate.
With a bespoke checkout journey and eCommerce platform on top of a streamlined data pipeline, we’ve also helped Getter bring 1000s more products to their customers.

With wholesale agreements already in place, we built a data pipeline that automatically brings the tools and materials from partner sites to the Getter shopfront. Using API calls, we were able to remove the manual inventory checks Getter previously relied on. Now Getter’s customers can see real-time availability that also takes into account their location and delivery time.
Getter’s product database was vast and pulled from multiple sources. They needed a cost-effective e-Commerce solution to meet their delivery and billing needs. After ruling out a range of off-the-shelf platforms, we built them a bespoke site that also took the heavy lifting out of stock management and updates.
By making Stripe the sole payment processor, we were able to further reduce the number of integrations required for each new release. Combining an off-the-shelf payments platform with a bespoke checkout journey resulted in a faster, smarter, future-proof website.
Now Getter has built the product database, they’re using the data to identify new products that will help drive conversion. Next on the roadmap: developing the AI needed to increase share of wallet and improve customer loyalty.
